Could Michigan actually go 0-12 in 2009?

We Wolverines fans probably think no season could get worse then 2008, but the fact is, 2009 might be worse. We lose 6 seniors from a defense that is already shitty, we return a bunch of garbage players on offense (the entire o-line, Odoms, Stonum, Shaw), and players who either aren’t utilized at all (Carlos Brown, Junior Hemingway, Carson Butler) or players that aren’t being utilized properly (Brandon Minor, Greg Mathews, Toney Clemons). Our starting QB will either be a true freshmen or a guy who’s put in a terrible position and therefore unable to make many big plays (Threet). And our schedule is brutal:

-Big Ten road games against Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan state, and Illinois (thats 4 losses right there)
-Big Ten home games against Ohio State (loss), Penn State (loss), Indiana (toss up) and Purdue (tossup)
-Notre Dame at home (loss)
-another tough non conference opponent like Oregon or Utah (loss)
-two MAC teams, one of them against Western Michigan (we’ve barely managed to win 5 of our last 7 games against MAC teams, and finally, Toledo broke down the door. WMU is much better then Toledo). Both these games will be losses as well

So here’s my question: will Michigan actually go winless in 2009?

    if he get a good freshman class like Nick did then Michigan will be a team in the big 10 Penn state sucks! weak teams that they beat!

    sorry. i can’t be serious. i hear what you’re saying. but just on pride alone (something that the wolverines have … even a little … and the Lions don’t), the wolverines should win at least one.

    but it’s gonna get worse before it gets better. we shouldn’t be surprised. rod will have to get serious about recruiting the right players for his system. (gee, i don’t like calling him that. people may associate him w/ marinelli now. yelch.)

    I don’t see Michigan going winless in 2009. I think the other games scheduled will be cupcakes. If RichRod can schedule Portland State, then maybe Michigan fans can still say that they beat PSU (LOL, sorry, couldn’t resist). But seriously, here’s what I see.

    Cupcake (let’s pretend Portland State): W
    Notre Dame: L
    Cupcake (let’s pretend Florida International): W
    Indiana: W

    At this point, Wolverines fans will be happy to see Michigan going 3-1, saying “I told you so” that RichRod would turn the program around in the second season, but then the rest of the season starts.

    @ Michigan State: L
    @ Iowa: L
    Penn State: L
    @ Illinois: L
    Purdue: toss up (depends on how effective their Joe Tiller lookalike coach is)
    @ Wisconsin: L
    Ohio State: L
    Western Micigan: L

    Michigan finishes 3-9 or 4-8, depending on who RichRod schedules for cupcakes and on Purdue. Right now, Michigan is looking like its Bump Elliot era self. If I have my two cupcakes picked right, next year could look better for Michigan. Indiana is prepetually crap so Michigan gets that win, especially at the Big House. Now, if you have brutal non-conference opponents scheduled, then you’re looking at a 1-11 or 2-10 season.

    Not a chance. I am also disappointed with this season. Rich Rod is getting some good recruits for next year. His class is ranked 11th in the country. He will get his system going, try to be patient. GO BLUE!
